SWING SET!!!

One of my favorite activities as a child was playing on the swing set in the back yard with my brother. We spent countless hours on that thing, swinging, climbing, getting tangled up in the swings and finding other mischief to get into I'm sure. I have such fond memories of play time on our swing set, that I've been looking for one for Greggy on and off for about a year. I've come across a few free ones on Craig's List over the months, but they usually needed lots of TLC (and we aren't very handy) or they'd be gone before I'd have a chance to borrow a truck to pick it up.

So a few weeks ago, I was working MOPS at church and was talking to a friend (Amy Sprague) that works in the same nursery that I do and was telling her about my quest for a swing set. Amy is a very matter of fact person so it shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did when she stated "We have an extra one. You can probably have it if you want."

I was very interested but we had about 10 babies under the age of 8 months that needed our attention so we didn't get to talk about it again before we left. So later that week, I tracked down her email address and asked if she was serious. She replied saying that they were going to Hawaii for 10 days but gave me her address and said we could come look at it in their backyard while they were gone. She said if we wanted it after seeing it, we could have it as long as we took it apart and hauled it home.

The next weekend, Andrew and I loaded Greg in the car and drove the 10 minute drive to their home. We were thrilled with the swing set, made arrangements and picked it up on Saturday after Andrew's soccer game! Thanks to some of our friends from church (Matt Kingsley with the awesome truck and Bryan Van Welzan..."V-Dubb" as Greg calls him), we were able to get it taken apart, moved and put back together in a few short hours! We have AWESOME friends here....we are so blessed!

Anyway, here are some pictures of our new swing set and fort. Greg calls it "Gregory's clubhouse" (like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...a show on the Disney channel that has been his favorite for the last several months). I can't wait to make awesome memories playing in the back yard with Greg that he'll look back fondly on, 30+ years from now like I do with my childhood memories with my brother Tim. Thank you SO MUCH Sprague family for your incredible generosity. Your gift to us will be such a blessing for our family as we share adventures in the back yard and build incredible memories together.
